Juvederm®& the new Juvederm® XC, (with 0.3 % lidocaine for numbing) are gel fillers made of hyaluronic sugar (something already in your body) usually injected into the wrinkles along the sides of the nose and the mouth. The results are immediate and dramatic, with a smooth, natural, & younger look.
So What Makes It Better?
Juvederm injectable gel is produced using HYLACROSS™ technology, resulting in a smooth consistency gel that gives a long-lasting, natural, look and feel. In June 2007, the FDA allowed Juverderm to announce that it lasts up to 12 months--perhaps twice as long as other hyaluronic gel fillers.
Does It Hurt?
Clinically, Dr. Lee found Juvederm® Treatments to have minimal discomfort, especially after pre-treatment with our anesthetic nunbing cream. Even better, Juvederm® XC(which costs just a little more) has 0.3 % lidocaine numbing incorporated right into it for maximum comfort during your treatment. Not surprisingly, more than 90% of our patients prefer Juvederm® XC. It is so smooth and effective, even lip treatments can be done without the need for dental blocks for adequate anesthesia.
What Is A "Liquid Lift?"
This is the term which has become fashionable in the media to describe the increasing use of Botox and Aesthetic Fillers (such as Juvederm™) to give many of the cosmetic effects of a face-lift--without the extreme costs, risks, and downtime of traditional plastic surgery. This has become an increasingly attractive option for those who want to look their best (in these harsh economic times), but who simply don't have the time for post-surgical recovery or who just don't want to look un-attractive for so long while in recovery. Of course, a "liquid lift" is not the equivalent of face-lift surgery, but as you can see, it is amazing what we can now do with this wonderful technology.
