BOTOX® , Wrinkle Fillers, Thermage, IPL, Spider Veins, TMR--To Be Pain-Less, and . . . Zerona Body Slimming LASER with Weight-Less ProgramBOTOX® Cosmetic, manufactured by Allergan, is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium. It is a non-surgical, physician-administered treatment that can temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. During treatment, very low doses of BOTOX® Cosmetic are administered via a few tiny injections directly into the muscles that cause those stubborn lines. The treatment is usually done in about 10 minutes, and no recovery time is needed. Within one to two weeks, you may see an improvement that can last up to 4 months. Results may vary. After: Crow's Feet Those moderate to severe frown lines between your brows form over time as the result of muscle activity. BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected directly into the muscles between your brows. It works by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses to the injected muscles; this reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those persistent lines to form. Within 3 days, you may see a marked improvement in the moderate to severe frown lines between your brows. Lines continue to improve for up to a month, and results can last for up to 3-4 months. In clinical trials, nearly 90% of men and women rated the improvement in their appearance as moderate to better 1 month after treatment. Those with larger muscles may require more BOTOX, hence results may vary. Dr. Lee starts patients with 20 Units of Botox for the Glabella (between the eyes) area, 16 Units of Botox for the Frontalis (forehead) area, and 12 Units of Botox for the Crow's Feet (side of eyes) area. His philosophy is to use the least amount of BOTOX® Cosmetic you need, to keep your costs down, though it is more lucrative to give you--and charge you--for more than you actually need. He will adjust your dose higher as you need it, and once he knows the minimum you need in a particular area, this will become your standard dose. Those with larger muscles will need more BOTOX® Cosmetic to obtain good results, and typically men will need double (or even triple) the standard woman's BOTOX® Cosmetic dose. Results from treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic can last for up to 3-4 months. If you discontinue treatment, the frown lines between your brows gradually will look like they did before treatment. Your individual results will vary by your metabolism, but will tend to follow a consistant pattern with the same number of BOTOX® Cosmetic Units used. Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Prior to injecting, Dr. Lee may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream. The entire procedure takes just minutes. Many people return directly to work or normal activity following BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment. Each bottle of BOTOX® Cosmetic must be mixed with normal saline to be used, so one must be aware that the amount of fluid does not always equal the true amount of BOTOX® Cosmetic. An easy way to compare "apples to apples" is to have your physician document how many "Units of BOTOX® Cosmetic" is used . Remember, there are people useing "fake" BOTOX® Cosmetic in Las Vegas, so if the price is too low (BOTOX® Cosmetic itself is expensive), beware........ This is the term which has become fashionable in the media to describe the increasing use of Botox and Aesthetic Fillers (such as Juvederm™) to give many of the cosmetic effects of a face-lift--without the extreme costs, risks, and downtime of traditional plastic surgery. Dr. Lee uses Hypertonic Saline (salty water) to shrink spider veins because there are no research studies which show Hypertonic Saline to cause cancer in laboratory animals.
